Greek Dining at Lemon and Olives in Baguio City
June 01, 2019
Tired of the same food in Baguio? Don't fret as there are restaurants in Baguio that offer intricate and flavorful European dishes! Nope, we’re not gonna be dealing about Italian pizza and pasta today. Instead, we’ll be trying famous Greek recipes and cuisines right at the heart of Baguio City.
Lemon and Olives is a relatively good-looking Greek restaurant that offers authentic Greek and Mediterranean dishes. Aside from the raving reviews of their food, people also come here because of the fusion of European and Baguio ambiance. So sad that we weren’t able to try their al fresco dining with the scenic view of pine trees and mountains. Nevertheless, we were so much satisfied with the interiors of their restaurant.
Aside from their very Greek-inspired designs, we also noticed how the hanging plants in the outside part of their restaurant, made a huge impact in making the place look neat and refreshing. There was also enough lighting from the outside that made everything good for photo-taking and eating!
But of course, it’s not just about taking Instagram photos (well, a bit). We’re also here for the food! It was our first time to try Greek food so instead of pretending we know what’s good and bad, we kindly asked the waiter what are the bestsellers from the menu. We first tried their Souvlaki Plate (P240) where you can choose among chicken, beef, pork, lamb, or combinations, as your main course. It is served with Greek sauce, pita bread, and fries on the side accompanied with garlic dip. And one thing’s for sure, it is worth every bite. It is definitely recommended for those who want to feel full and satisfied at the same time.
Next, we went for their Moussaka (P230) and it is, unquestionably, our favorite. Who would thought that eggplant and ground beef topped with layers of potato and dipped in bechamel sauce would taste like heaven? Make sure you try this dish when you visit them!
And for our dessert, we ordered their famous Baklava Cheesecake (P160) which we personally recommend for those who like cheesecake but doesn’t want it to be too sweet. It’s definitely a level up from your usual cheesecake dessert.
Eating delicious and authentic Greek food with a mesmerizing view of pine trees in a beautifully decorated restaurant? I wouldn’t know what’s more perfect than this! Although that’s the case, we gave it a 9 instead of a 10 because it is also relatively pricey than the usual restaurants in Baguio City. Nevertheless, if you opt to eat in somewhere new and worth it, then Lemon and Olives is your choice. It’s perfect for celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. Eating there for a date would really feel romantic!
